Sophie is a graduate of The University of Auckland and has a postgraduate diploma in paediatrics. She spent some time working at Auckland City Hospital and Starship Hospital before going on to full-time General Practice. Sophie has wide interests in all areas of General Practice, with experience in youth health, women’s health, and is trained in Jadelle contraception. Having grown up in the Papakura area, she is glad to be back working in the community that is well known to her and of which she is very fond.

Sophie is in the practice Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday.

At present Sophie is not accepting new patient enrollments.

You are welcome to see Sophie when your regular doctor is unavailable.

Judy started this practice in 1985 over 30 years ago. 

Judy has a special interest in sports medicine and was for several years the NZ Ferns netball doctor.

Judy has an active lifestyle keeping her busy and she usually is training for another challenge having recently completed the Coast to Coast  in Feb 2016 and the Great Barrier Island Marathon.  These challenges keep her fit and give her life balance.

At present Judy is not accepting new patient enrolments and she is unable to see patients who are not already enrolled with her.

Judy is here all day Monday, Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.

Lynnette works 2 days at the surgery.  As well as working at Drury Surgery, Lynnette has an interest in Community Emergency Medicine and works at an Accident and Medical Clinic. 


At present Lynnette is not accepting any new patient enrolments and she is unable to see patients who are not already enrolled with her. 

Lynnette is here all day Monday and Wednesday mornings.

Suyasha has recently joined our team in June 2022. She will be taking on Dr Catherine Lu’s patients when she finishes up in July 2022.

Suyasha is here Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays.

Dr Abhi Bhat

Abhi grew up in One Tree Hill & attended Penrose High School. He graduated from University of Auckland School of Medicine in 2009. He worked as a house officer in various specialities in Auckland Regional Hospitals (Counties Manukau, Auckland City, Starship & National Womens’ Hospital) and as a registrar in Anaesthesia & Intensive care. During this time, he completed Diploma of Paediatrics in 2011 & Postgraduate Certificate in Civil Aviation Medicine in 2015.

He moved to the Thames-Coromandel District in 2015 to work at Thames Hospital as Emergency Department Medical Officer and completed Emergency Medicine Certificate in 2017. He has worked in Primary Care since 2016 in the Hauraki District in Ngatea & Paeroa. He is a member of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine and obtained the Fellowship of Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners in 2021. He enjoys spending time with family, fountain pens & helping out in the family farm.

Abhi is here Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

 

Dr Karusha Ramsamy

Karusha grew up in South Auckland and is passionate about serving the local community. She attained her medical degree from the University of Auckland. Karusha enjoys all aspects of her work, especially getting to know people and the families and communities that they are part of. When not at work Karusha enjoys spending time with her young family

Karusha works Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

She is currently taking on new patients

Practice Clinical Assistant

Brittany

We currently do not have a practice clinical assistant.

This role and is responsible for assisting with a variety of both medical and non-medical tasks in the practice including overseeing both our medical and non medical stock orders and liaising with all of our suppliers.

Supports our nurses, doctors and reception teams wherever possible and liaises with patients to help provide the best patient care. Abi assists and communicates with clinical staff to co-ordinate our services and help prioritise workflows and manage patient expectation.

 
Margo

Margo

Margo – Practice Nurse Team Leader and Nurse Smear Taker

Margo is our nurse team leader and she has a long history of nursing at our practice , firstly between 2005 and 2017 and then joining us again 2020.

Margo enjoys all aspects of General Practice, particularly advocating for patients. She has a special interest in Women’s Health, and encouraging all patients in preventative health with healthy nutrition and exercise. She is a Cervical Smear Taker. Margo has three adult children, lives on a sheep and beef farm with her husband, and enjoys a range of activities from adventure races, off- road running, and mountain biking.

 

Mikke

Mikke - Practice Nurse

Mikke joined our nursing team at the end of 2021. Returning to work after Maternity leave, Mikke has previously worked in acute medical & surgical settings in both New Zealand and Australia. Mikke is attending university this year to accomplish her Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing Practice.

Wendy joined our team as a locum nurse in Feb 2017 and took up a permanent position in January 2018.

Wendy is an experienced Practice Nurse having worked in South Auckland, Central Auckland and Sunshine Coast Australia. Her special interests are women’s health, travel health and immunisations.

Rachel joined our nursing team in 2018. She was previously working in aged residential care in Wellington.

She enjoys working with all ages and enjoys journeying with people to achieve their wellness goals.

Her special interests is palliative care , wellness education and immunisations.

Jill - Practice Nurse and Nurse Smear Taker

Jill is from Wairoa in Hawkes Bay and has recently rejoined the Drury team. Jill has been working in primary health care for 10 years and has a wide range of experience.

She has a special interest in supporting people living with diabetes, providing information and advice on diet and lifestyle to help them reach their individual health goals.

Jill has experience with all aspects of primary health care nursing - including immunisations, cervical screening , wound care, Aclasta and iron infusion. She has a special interest in working along side our patients with diabetes - supporting them with diet and lifestyle advice and information.

Kelsi Moore - Medical Centre Manager

Kelsi been with our practice for 16 years and with Sue’s retirement, at the end of 2021, she has been promoted to the Medical Centre Management role.

The GP owners entrust and delegate the running of the practice on a day to day basis to the Medical Centre Manager (MCM) who is responsible for coordinating the majority of non-medical tasks in the practice including overseeing all Human Resources and delegation of workload and liaison with staff and development and maintenance of our policies and procedures.

Our MCM is our Privacy, Complaints, and Health and Safety officer.

 

Britt - 2IC Admin Team Lead

Britt communicates with clinical staff to co-ordinate our services and help priorities workflows and manage patient expectation.

Our receptionists are, Bella, Haylee, Rekha, Sally and Suzanne.

Our receptionists are pivotal people in our medical practice. They are our patients' and visitors' first point of contact and can be reached on 092943005 option 0.

Our reception team look forward to helping you book appointments, handle your inquiries, take your payments and deal with a huge range of administrative tasks.

Our reception team are unable to help with any medication requests or queries on your health management; all of these inquires will be redirected to our nursing team.
